This item was contributed in person to a collective binder at the exhibition Picturing the Pandemic: Images from the Pandemic Journaling Project and the Rhode Island COVID-19 Archive.
*The curators of the exhibition want to note the historical significance of the phrase “All Lives Matter” and its use as a counter phrase to “Black Lives Matter” dating back to 2014. “All Lives Matter” was used during the 2020 uprise against police brutality and terror, again, as an antithesis to “Black Lives Matter.” While its use in this item may seem to not directly promote violence, it is our view to place the phrase in its historical context. "
