About
The Rhode Island COVID-19 Archive was launched in April 2020 in response to the COVID-19 global pandemic and was closed to submissions on June 30, 2023. It is a crowdsourced archive of observations, experiences and creative work about the impact of the pandemic on Rhode Islanders. The site and all contributions will be preserved by Providence Public Library and Rhode Island Historical Society.

Becca Bender, RIHS Project ManagerBecca Bender is the Curator and Archivist of Moving Image and Audio Collections at the Rhode Island Historical Society. She’s a deep believer that archives should engage collaboratively with the communities they represent, and that through partnerships we can all work toward creating a more equitable and inclusive historical record. She is the main point of contact for RIHS' partnership on the RI COVID-19 Archive. |

Angela DiVeglia, Community Outreach and EngagementAs the Outreach and Reference Librarian in Special Collections at Providence Public Library, Angela's work focuses on supporting community archives and fostering creative ways for the public to engage with collections. She applies this work directly to the RI COVID-19 Archive and is focused on outreach to activist organizations and lowering barriers to participation. |

Jeremy Ferris, Design & Layout LeadJeremy Ferris is the Digital Content Manager at Providence Public Library, where he ensures that the library's digital resources aid in access to research, education, collections, public services, and more. With projects like the Rhode Island COVID-19 Archive, he hopes to further facilitate building community and more equitable histories. |

James McGrath, Public Humanities LeadJim McGrath is a Part-Time Lecturer in Northeastern University's History Department, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in history, public history, and digital humanities. Previously he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Digital Public Humanities at Brown University's John Nicholas Brown Center for Public Humanities and Cultural Heritage, where he collaborated with PPL, RIHS, and other community organizations on digital initiatives (like this project!). Yuselly Mendoza, Project Coordinator for Latinx/Spanish-Language Outreach & PromotionYuselly Mendoza is a certified community health worker with ONE Neighborhood Builders where she works directly within the Olneyville community to connect residents with health and social resources. In 2020, her work has focused on connecting with community members who have been directly impacted by COVID-19. Her work with the RI COVID-19 Archive focuses on outreach about the project to the Hispanic and Latinx communities of RI. Her participation on the project is funded by a project grant from the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities. |

Rai Terry, A/V Archiving InternRai Terry is a MA student in Public Humanities and Center For the Study of Slavery and Justice fellow at Brown University where they are engaging with the impact Black queer audiovisual media in the 21st century. In addition they are a fellow with the Association of Moving Image Archivists through which he has an A/V archiving internship at the Rhode Island Historical Society.
