Title

A Day as a Community Health Worker

Description

My role as a Community Health Worker (CHW) drastically shifted due to the global pandemic. I am working on the ground more than ever before. The demand of CHW highly increased - local agencies are frequently reaching out for our support. I recently assisted in the COVID-19 testing site at Providence Housing Authority (PHA) where residents were rapid tested. The team and I wore full-on PPE from top to bottom. One of my many new responsibilities includes delivering groceries to families living in the zip code areas 02909 & 02908 - specifically those who are in quarantine or isolated. I make about 5-10 deliveries per week. The groceries are provided by the Federal Hill House food pantry.
