<text>Before Covid19 we had at least one grandson every day after school pick up. They would stay, we would do homework, play and eat supper. We would drive them home after wash up, bath or shower ( depending on child and night). We call it “stay late night”. We miss it soo much. We now walk to one of their houses and stand outside on the lawn, their mom opens the window and we talk. We drive to our daughter’s house and we sit on the lawn there and the 3 boys sit in the open window. In both cases we all hug ourselves and send them as 6 ft. hugs to each other. I am 73 and my husband is 77 and since the dads are out “in public” we haven’t been closer than 6 ft. Our older son , who is single, comes on Sunday and sits at a table on the porch. We put snacks out and we sit at the open window and we enjoy each other’s company. I actually started writing this at the beginning of the month but added or changed it as I watched the Governor’s press conferences on tv.</text>

The WaterFire Beacon of Hope is a LIVE 24/7 dynamic art installation created by the WaterFire Providence team under the artistic direction of founder, executive artistic director and coCEO, Barnaby Evans. Due to Stay at Home Orders, the WaterFire Beacon of Hope can currently only be experienced over the Internet at

The WaterFire Beacon of Hope presents a solitary illuminated WaterFire brazier in the Main Hall of the WaterFire Arts Center surrounded by a field of luminaria, each memorializing a Rhode Island soul lost to COVID-19. The installation, which also includes a field of stars overhead and WaterFire soundtrack, can be experienced 24 hours a day and cast to viewer’s TVs.</text>

              <text>Dear Future Generations,
Hey. You guys are probably not even gonna see this, because the internet is likely to flat-out die, and coding is going to be reinvented with a new and much better system, and one day you're going to dig up a computer and be really, really confused. Or maybe not. I don't know- I'm just writing about whatever pops into my head at the time. So basically, I'm an 8th grader who's stuck in quarantine.
It's not fun anymore.
Have you ever gotten to a point when you're flat-out trapped inside you're own head? It's really scary, actually. That's why on average, after finishing online schoolwork I spend a flat-out four hours watching TV so I don't have to face life. Which is pretty stupid, I know, but even someone on the anti-social side like me starts to miss talking to people. Like, real people outside of the family, really bad.
I'm a rock climber (v6 is my top grade) and we're absoloutly going INSANE. There are an absolute ton of climbers out there learning how to perform heel hooks and edging on countertops, toe hooks under tables, and taking advantage of decorative doorframes and hinges just to get off the ground. Right now, I'm begging my parents to let me design and build a small wall in the basement because I'm going INSANE.
I think that's all I have to say, but I'll try for a poem of sorts:
Pacing
back and forth
Long time
Never ending
Trapped in your mind
nowhere to hide
make peace with yourself
be at home in your head
remember why you try
in the first place
Okay there, I don't know if it really qualifies as a poem, but I'm just going to go with it.
