<dcterms:description>My role as a Community Health Worker (CHW) drastically shifted due to the global pandemic. I am working on the ground more than ever before. The demand of CHW highly increased - local agencies are frequently reaching out for our support. I recently assisted in the COVID-19 testing site at Providence Housing Authority (PHA) where residents were rapid tested. The team and I wore full-on PPE from top to bottom. One of my many new responsibilities includes delivering groceries to families living in the zip code areas 02909 & 02908 - specifically those who are in quarantine or isolated. I make about 5-10 deliveries per week. The groceries are provided by the Federal Hill House food pantry.</dcterms:description>

    <dcterms:title>Memorial to Jean Carlos</dcterms:title>
<dcterms:description>A week ago Friday my neighbor Jean Carlos was killed outside our home on the south side of Providence. While I didn't know him personally, you didn't need to know Jean Carlos to see what a good man he was and attentive father to his young son -- close to my own daughter in age. His death is a tragic loss to our Elmwood community.

While Jean Carlos didn't have Covid, I still can't help but see him as yet another victim of the virus. All across the country the homicide rate in the US has skyrocketed in the past year -- a year defined by this pandemic. In Providence, the homicide rate increased 35% in 2020 over the previous year. I felt that rise personally. </dcterms:description>
